Religious3/Madonna. Extraordinary Antique European Hand Carved Weeping Madonna Wood Statue. Intricately hand carved in every detail with extraordinary details given to her facial expression. She is breathtaking in her weeping facial expression. Her carvings in her long flowing gown are again very intricate. One finger was replaced and one full carved hand was replaced from being so old. She remains with her Original heavy hook on the backside where she once hung on the wall to adorn an ancient church in Europe. She also remains with all her Original worn out faded chipped paint and please take notice to her expression with tears coming downward. Opening to her neck area however again natural for her age. A piece is taken out of the bottom front as shown also. She brings warmth and beauty from the past and certainly will continue with you. The backside is carved out which is notable on a higher craftsmanship carving. Circa early 1800's. Photos are part of this description--please see them all for your viewing they are made large.
