St.Paul/Pg.Oils. Antique French Saint / St. Paul Oil on Canvas. Gorgeous Workmanship on this Antique French Saint / St. Paul having his long beard and reading a book displayed below him. In addition, there is a skull beneath his left arm and a cross coming out of his left hand. A tree with branches are in the background and a the wonderful warmth of a halo over his head. Circa late 1880's. PLEASE NOTE; My Frame does NOT... come with this Antique Oil... I only set it in so you can view the beauty of it inside a frame... however, my frame DOES NOT come with this. You must purchase your own frame.
Also there are Paint scuffs along the upper center and right edges of all corners---around the whole perimeter. There is a small scuff on top of the cross and 2 tiny white dots on St. Paul's head... a few tiny paint scuffs on bottom near the book. All these are minor to me ...but I rather say more then less so you know what to expect when you receive it. Please judge for yourself and view all my photos as they are part of my description.

Saint/Nun/Pg.Oils. Gorgeous Antique French Oil having surroundings of angels and children and dove. This is being sold " as is"... being the condition.... There are Large areas of paint lifting in 2 places in the upper right.-- the paint being thick & hard.. AND... .....1 / One place has lifting in the upper left... and also the lower center ..... additional lifting.. below the Saint-- much lifting throughout........ Please see all my large photos as I placed so many of the flaws /lifting/ grazing and tattered areas.... on this antique Oil.
The Oil itself is so amazing due to the fine quality of workmanship surrounding this entire Oil.... as you notice there is so much to see in every part of this Antique Oil... There are darling little angels / putti's to beautify their surroundings in addition to the immense workmanship that went into this Antique Oil. It does need restoration as you notice by the heavy lifting.
Notice the backside having patches where it was repaired at some time long ago and placed inside the frame with nails and some small leather pieces......Furthermore... at the lower bottom notice the wood on the frame missing in the corner...Regarding the frame: I purchased the frame separately and I am giving it Free with this Oil...
There are many flaws in this Oil however it remains a Magnificent Antique Oil on Canvas which needs work and then you would certainly have a treasure and something to admire with all the richness of the movement going on in this piece.
